New website for the family printing company

How we helped VIENALA offset printing company modernize its website and improve the measurability of visits by using a high-quality template.

Client: VIENALA, s.r.o.

VIENALA is a family-run offset printing house in Košice with 30 years of experience. It focuses on printing books, calendars, boxes and promotional materials in medium runs.

Task:

The client approached us with a request for a new website. The original one had poor visit measurement and low interactivity, had an outdated design and, moreover, customers were quickly leaving the site. After a deeper analysis, we found that the website contains little important information, does not direct the customer’s attention to the product and the company’s key advantages.

How is website creation done using a template?

There are many incorrect approaches when creating a website from a template. We have summarized the process of creating a website from a template in the following seven points.

1. We will clarify the content and layout of the website

Before choosing a template, it is necessary to be clear about what the content of the page will be. We also need to clarify whether we will use sliders and large blocks, whether we will insert banners, forms, etc. Many templates have very limited customization of the layout.

2. We will send the client only 1-2 templates to choose from

We do not choose a template based on its appearance. Once again. We don’t really choose a template based on whether we like it or not. Most templates are tweaked and embellished to look good. However, after installing and adding the client’s content, texts, fonts, and colors, the page suddenly looks… useless. That’s why we, as web designers, choose a suitable template for the client. We send them 1 max 2 suitable templates to choose from, explain our decision to them, and remind them that we will customize the template as needed.

In this case, after careful consideration, we chose only this one template, which the client approved without comment. A big advantage was the quality of the The7 template and the ability to customize the content thanks to the Elementor tool.

3. Set the visual style

The client didn’t have a logo manual, so we hadfree rein in defining the appearance. We tuned the website to black and white according to the template and used primary blue and additional red as complementary colors – based on the logo. We chose a an eye-catching serif font for the headings, which adds to the impression of tradition, and a sans serif, easy-to-read font for the text.

4. We will prepare some sample pages

We have prepared a homepage with ready-made texts, photos, colors and fonts. At this stage, we had the website reviewed and approved by the client to see if we were on the right track and if we could continue working.

5. We fill the page with content

A long process of creating the website followed, collecting materials from the client, who responded very promptly to our requests. We edited the texts for the needs of the website using keywords.

6. We finalize the website

What is not so visible to the eye, but makes the website complete. We have listed what finalization includes below.

7. Website Migration

Since this was a redesign of the original website, we prepared the website on our work domain and then migrated it to the live domain. After a successful migration, we completed some SEO settings, set up redirects, optimized the website, and set up the cookie bar.

What did the website finalization involve?

  1. Favicon (icon at the URL address)
  2. Share image (image that appears when sharing the page)
  3. Meta descriptions for individual pages that we filled in based on keyword analysis
  4. Sitemap (sitemap) and website ranking via Google Search Console
  5. Analytic integration tools
  6. Website security – changing login address, two-factor login, limit number of logins, etc.
  7. Website optimization – cache memory, database optimization, file minification, etc.
  8. 404 page
  9. Redirecting old pages to new ones
  10. Creating a client account and training in website editing
  11. Cookies subpage and cookies bar

Summary

Although our agency primarily focuses on creating custom websites, we can create functional solutions also for clients with a lower budget. The template solution brings both advantages and disadvantages:

Advantages:

  • lower costs
  • faster website creation
  • easy content editability

Disadvantages:

  • the selected template can be used by many other companies
  • weaker editing and customization options
  • we depend on template optimization (how it is programmed and tuned)

After launching the website, the results came relatively quickly. After the first month, the conversion rate of filling out the contact form is 18% (almost every fifth visitor who reached the contact page also filled out the form), organic traffic has increased by about 500 times (according to Analytics), and customer feedback is excellent.

We were very satisfied with the result of the cooperation with the YNK media team. After consultation, they proposed solutions and creatively processed them so that they exactly fit our ideas and corporate design. We will definitely continue our cooperation for other marketing needs and I therefore recommend cooperation.
